Basic Mediation Training • Multiple Time Offerings
This two day training teaches the facilitative style of mediation. Basic mediation training is required to become a mediator and a prerequisite for any advanced mediation training. As third party neutrals, mediators help parties talk together, clarify issues, develop alternatives and make decisions. The process gives participants an opportunity to become more open to other perspectives, gain understanding and come to mutual agreement.

  • Learn and practice the 5 Step Mediation Model for constructively managing conflict
  • Mediation Techniques
  • Learn how to identify information needed to resolve disputes

These trainings are for any individual, who experiences difficulty with successful confrontation in either their professional or personal life, and would like to improve their skill set to more effectively respond to and manage conflict.
Training is beneficial whether you are a professional who formally resolves disputes, a manager who is asked to intervene in conflict resolution, or for personal development. Coleman Mediation Services provides an intensive, experiential skills training program. Participants learn and practice essential skills and techniques that improve the quality of communication in order to more effectively transform conflict into solutions. Topics include how to gather information, organize the discussion, generate options, and overcome impasse in order to develop mutual agreement.
